Universalia is an overall framework thought of for the promotion and spread of scientific culture throughout a particular city, Vitoria-Gasteiz, so that both science and the city, the city and science, together accomplish that, with time, they are associated with each other.
Universalia has been conceived as an annual event, endowed with
different sections whose central idea is GREAT SCIENCE,
and whose mark has been established by the participation of
the cultural, social, and institutional framework of the city
of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
Universalia tries to explain in one word, three ideas: University, Universality y Activity.

University:
because nothing else exists that is better identified with these concepts: Learning, Knowledge, Science and Culture. |

Universality:
because Universalia has a decided, globalized vocation and an open projection in all environments:
- Without restrictions in the content field: To address any possible area in relation to the human being, and favour the participation of all possible visions.
- Without exclusion in the social environment:
To establish points of interest and depth levels in the processing of subject matter to leave room for all age groups and educational backgrounds.

Activity:
because all of the above should be developed through concrete actions, capable of sustaining any ambitious goals that are presented, in an event of such great importance that focuses on each edition in the relative issue of science; approaching this issue from within science, but also from other intellectual perspectives. Universalia aspires to be not only a scientific congress but also a scientific week.
